Clearfork Has Two Food Weeks Running at Once. The Real Story Is What's Moving In Next Door.

Clearfork Has Two Food Weeks Running at Once. The Real Story Is What's Moving In Next Door.

If you've eaten at City Works Eatery & Pour House this week, you've probably noticed the menu is doing double duty. Order the Hawaiian Guajillo Burger and you're in Fort Worth Burger Week territory, eight dollars for the restaurant's specialty patty once Burger Week opens August 17. Order almost anything else off the regular menu right now and you're already inside DFW Restaurant Week, which has been running at the same address since August 10.

Two separate charity food promotions, stacked on top of each other, at one restaurant you already know by name. That's a fun coincidence for anyone who lives near the Shops at Clearfork. It is not, however, the most important thing happening to the neighborhood's food scene this year. That news is on a construction fence about a mile away, and it has nothing to do with either food week.

What's Actually On The Menu This Week

Fort Worth Burger Week is in its eighth year, organized by Greg Heitzman's What's Up Fort Worth as a way to fill tables during what he's called the slow stretch at the end of summer. City Works is one of roughly 30 Fort Worth restaurants participating this year, running the Hawaiian Guajillo Burger special from August 17 through 23. Every restaurant pays a fee to join, and that fee goes directly to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

DFW Restaurant Week is a bigger, longer, more expensive proposition. This year marks its 30th anniversary, and it runs from August 10 through September 7 at more than 170 restaurants across North Texas, with proceeds split between the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope. At City Works, that means the regular menu is available at Restaurant Week pricing for most of the run.

Here's the side-by-side, since the two promotions have different rules, different price points, and different beneficiaries even when they're happening at the same table:

DFW Restaurant Week Fort Worth Burger Week
2026 dates August 10 – September 7 August 17 – August 23
Typical price $29 lunch, $49-$59 dinner, $99 signature experience $8 specialty burger
Beneficiary North Texas Food Bank, Lena Pope Tarrant Area Food Bank
At City Works Full menu at prix fixe pricing Hawaiian Guajillo Burger special

If you're planning a Clearfork dinner this month, that overlap window between August 17 and September 7 is the sweet spot. You can do a Restaurant Week meal one night and a Burger Week stop the next without leaving the same parking lot.

The Bigger Change Nobody's Menu Mentions

None of that is the interesting part. The interesting part is a corner about a mile from where you're eating that burger, at Marathon Avenue and Ozona Boulevard, where a three-story building called the Offices at Clearfork has been under construction. When it opens, it will bring the center's third office building alongside 22,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, built in partnership with Cassco Development Co.

The tenant getting the most attention isn't a retailer. It's Piattello Italian Kitchen, and the reason it matters has nothing to do with pasta.

Chef Marcus Paslay opened a Fort Worth restaurant called Clay Pigeon in 2013, then rebuilt the concept into Piattello in 2017. It won Restaurant of the Year at the 2018 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards the year after it debuted. Piattello has operated out of Waterside, a shopping and dining development on the other side of town, ever since. That location isn't closing yet. The team behind the restaurant says it will stay open as long as possible to avoid a gap in service while the new space comes together.

The new Piattello, confirmed to open in November 2026, will be considerably bigger: 5,620 square feet, about 160 indoor seats, a 40-seat patio, and lunch service seven days a week for the first time in the restaurant's history. That's a real expansion. But the detail worth sitting with is this: every restaurant currently operating inside Clearfork's food and beverage lineup arrived there as part of a multi-location group. Piattello will be the first Fort Worth restaurant with a single, local address to join that lineup.

Why That Sentence Is the Whole Story

Walk the Shops at Clearfork today and count the restaurant names you'd recognize from another city first. Doc B's Restaurant + Bar, City Works Eatery & Pour House, and Grimaldi's Pizzeria all operate multiple locations beyond this one address. Malai Kitchen, which opened its first restaurant in Dallas, has since grown into a multi-location brand rather than a single neighborhood spot. Recent retail additions to the center, Chanel Fragrance & Beauty, Jo Malone, and CH Carolina Herrera, follow the same logic: established names that already had a foothold somewhere else before Clearfork.

That's not a criticism of Clearfork. Simon, the property owner, built a center with over 40 stores and 16 food and beverage options by leaning on brands with proven pull in a high-traffic, high-rent shopping district. It worked well enough that the center's two existing office buildings are fully leased, and the Offices at Clearfork will be the third.

But it also means that if you've wanted to eat somewhere in Clearfork that started right here in Fort Worth, built by a chef with a Fort Worth track record, you haven't had that option inside the center itself. You'd drive to Waterside, or Magnolia Avenue, or South Main. Piattello's move changes that math for the first time since the center opened its doors. It's a small thing on paper, one restaurant relocating a mile down the road, but it's the first crack in a pattern that's held since Clearfork was built.

What To Do With This If You Live Nearby

None of this requires a special trip. If you're already in the habit of walking the center on a weekend, here's how the next few weeks actually break down:

  1. Between now and August 23, City Works is your one-stop shop for both food weeks. Go once for the Hawaiian Guajillo Burger, go again for a Restaurant Week dinner, and you've covered both charity promotions without adding a second restaurant to your rotation.
  2. After Burger Week ends August 23, DFW Restaurant Week keeps running through September 7. That's more than two additional weeks to catch a prix fixe meal at City Works or check what other Clearfork spots have added a Restaurant Week menu of their own.
  3. Starting in November, watch Marathon Avenue and Ozona Boulevard. That's where Piattello's new space will open inside the Offices at Clearfork, and it's worth knowing before opening week gets crowded that the Waterside location will likely still be running in parallel for a while, so there's no rush to pick a side.

If you're the kind of household that already treats the center as an extension of your backyard, walking over to Doc B's for a Tuesday dinner or grabbing a beer at City Works on a Saturday afternoon, the food weeks are a nice bonus. The Piattello move is the thing that actually changes what Clearfork feels like to live near, because it's the first sign that a locally built restaurant can hold its own in a center designed around brands with a national footprint.

That's a small data point about how a neighborhood matures. Retail centers built around big, safe, multi-location names tend to stay that way until one local operator proves the traffic and the rent structure can support something homegrown. Piattello testing that proposition in November is worth more attention than either food week currently getting the marketing push.

If you're weighing what a neighborhood like Clearfork actually offers day to day, beyond the shopping center anchor tenants, that's the kind of texture worth understanding before you commit to a specific block or a specific stretch of southwest Fort Worth.
